The Best AI Video and Image Generator App for Android in 2026

An honest comparison of the Android apps that make both AI video and AI images in October 2026: Google Gemini, Kling AI, Hailuo AI, Adobe Firefly and AI Videos Studio, with what is free, what needs a subscription, and who each one suits.

The Best AI Video and Image Generator App for Android in 2026

The best AI video and image generator app for Android in 2026 depends on how you want to pay. Google Gemini is the easiest free start for images, but its video generation needs a Google AI plan. Kling AI and Hailuo AI are strong apps built around their makers' own models, and AI Videos Studio suits people who want Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.5, GPT Image 2.5 and twenty-odd other models on one pay-as-you-go balance with no subscription.

That is the short answer. The longer one matters, because the five apps worth installing differ less in picture quality than in what they charge for, what they watermark, and which models sit behind the button.

A disclosure before the comparison. We make one of these apps: AI Videos Studio is ours, and our Kling links are affiliate links. I have tried to make that the reason to be stricter with our own entry, not looser. Every competitor fact here comes from the company's own pricing page, help centre or Google Play listing, checked on 12 October 2026, and they are listed at the end.

Two apps you may expect are missing. The Sora app is gone: OpenAI discontinued the Sora web and app experiences on 26 April 2026, so an old Play listing or a sideloaded APK will not bring it back. If Sora was your tool, our guide to Sora alternatives covers where its users went. And the endless "AI photo maker" apps with no named model behind them are out on purpose. If an app will not tell you which model made your image, you cannot predict what it will make next time.

Google Gemini: The Free Start for Images

Gemini is already on most Android phones, and on Google's free plan it does image generation and editing. Google's subscriptions page lists that under the free tier. For many people that is enough, and it costs nothing.

Video is where the free ride stops. The Gemini usage limits page marks video generation as a feature of the paid plans, and the cheapest of those is Google AI Plus at €4.99 a month, with AI Pro at €21.99. Google does not publish fixed image or video counts for any tier. Limits are "compute-based", refresh every five hours up to a weekly cap, and media generation "will consume more of your usage."

Choose it if you mainly want images and already live in Google's apps. Skip it if you want to pick the model yourself or pay per clip rather than per month.

Kling AI: One Strong Video Model, Subscription-Shaped

The Kling app on Google Play describes clips of up to 15 seconds in native 1080p or 4K, a Video Extension feature that reaches three minutes, and 4K image generation. Kling's own FAQ says you can start for free with daily credits, that free generations carry a watermark and export at 1080p, and that a membership removes the watermark and unlocks 4K.

Kling makes some of the best-moving footage available anywhere, and our Kling 3.0 review goes into why. The app's limit is the obvious one: it runs Kling's models. When a shot needs native dialogue audio or a 30-second single take, you need a second app.

Choose it if Kling's look is the look you want, often enough to justify a monthly plan.

Hailuo AI: MiniMax's Own Front Door

Hailuo AI is MiniMax's app, and its Play listing covers text to image, text to video, image to video and subject reference for consistent characters, with "some advanced features" behind an optional subscription. Hailuo's subscription terms give new users a one-time welcome package of credits that expires three days after it is granted, put a watermark on free video downloads, and say unused subscription credits do not roll over to the next month.

MiniMax's newest model, H3, is very good at motion. We run it in our own app too, and our MiniMax H3 review covers resolution, audio and price. In Hailuo's app you get MiniMax's models first and only.

Choose it if you have settled on MiniMax and want its newest features the day they ship.

Adobe Firefly: The Designer's Multi-Model App

Firefly is the closest thing to a multi-model app from a big brand. Its Play listing names partner models from Google, OpenAI, Luma and Runway alongside Adobe's own, and it adds sound effects and music. Adobe's plans page says you "don't need a plan to get free daily generations across image, video and audio", including models such as Nano Banana. Adobe does not say how many. Firefly Standard costs £9.98 a month in the UK for 2,000 generative credits.

Choose it if you already work in Creative Cloud and want generation that flows into Photoshop and Premiere.

AI Videos Studio: Several Leading Models, One Balance

This is ours, so here is exactly what it is and what it is not.

AI Videos Studio is on Google Play now. It has 25+ models for video and images, and the roster grows as new models ship. On the video side that means Veo 3.1 in three tiers, Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0, MiniMax H3 and H3 Max, Wan 3.0, Wan 3.0 Prime, Wan 2.7 and Wan 2.6, Gemini Omni Flash, Flux 3, and LTX 2.5 Fast and Pro. For images it runs GPT Image 2.5 Flare and Sunburst, GPT Image 2, SeeDream 5 Lite and Pro, Nano Banana 2.1, Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro, and Flux 2 Pro and Max.

How it charges:

  • No subscription. You buy credit packs, and credits never expire. On Google Play the smallest pack is 80 credits for €2.99, shown in your local currency.
  • The price before you render. Every model shows its credit cost before you commit. Images start at 3 credits, and a failed generation is refunded automatically.
  • A free daily top-up. Sign in with Google and, until you buy your first pack, your balance is topped up to 9 credits a day with no card. That is three images at 3 credits each. Free images and clips carry a small watermark, and new accounts pass an automated anti-abuse check before free credits arrive.
  • One account, two screens. The same Google sign-in and the same balance work in the browser, where the web Studio adds finishing tools such as reframing and lip sync.

What it does not do: there is no iPhone app yet, and your history in the app is kept for 14 days, so save anything you want to keep. It also does not run Kling. We stopped offering Kling inside our product in September and point people to Kling's own app instead.

Choose it if you want to pick the right model per shot without paying five subscriptions. That argument is made at length in why one pipeline beats five AI video tools.

How to Choose in One Minute

Ask three questions, in this order.

  1. Do you need video, or mostly images? For images alone, Gemini's free plan or Firefly's free daily allowance is a fine start. You may never need to pay.
  2. Do you want one model, or the right model per shot? If one model's look is enough, its maker's app (Kling or Hailuo) gets its new features first. If you switch between native audio, long takes and text-heavy stills, a multi-model app saves you juggling.
  3. Will you use it every month? Subscriptions suit steady weekly output. If your use is bursty, a balance that never expires wastes nothing in the quiet months.

The cost per finished second matters more than the sticker price. What AI video really costs per second breaks that down model by model, and our guide to the best AI video generator covers which model suits which shot.

Common Questions About Android AI Apps

What is the best AI video and image generator app for Android? It depends on how you want to pay. Google Gemini is the easiest free start for images, but video needs a Google AI plan. Kling AI and Hailuo AI are strong single-brand apps built around their own models. AI Videos Studio suits people who want several leading models, including Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.5 and GPT Image 2.5, on one pay-as-you-go balance with no subscription.

Is there an Android app for Veo, Seedance and GPT Image without a subscription? Yes. AI Videos Studio on Google Play runs Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, GPT Image 2.5 and GPT Image 2 among its 25+ models, and sells credit packs instead of plans. Credits never expire, and every model shows its credit cost before you render.

Can I make AI video for free on Android? Only in small amounts. Kling AI gives free daily credits with a watermark, Hailuo AI gives new accounts a welcome package that expires after three days, and Adobe Firefly offers free daily generations. Google's free Gemini plan does not include video generation; that starts with Google AI Plus.

Is the Sora app still available on Android? No. OpenAI discontinued the Sora web and app experiences on 26 April 2026, and its help centre says the Sora API was scheduled to end on 24 September 2026. Old Play listings or APK files do not restore access.

Is there an iPhone version of AI Videos Studio? Not yet. On iPhone you can use the Studio in the browser at aivideos.eu/studio with the same Google account and the same credit balance as the Android app.
